Genesis 7:18

The word 'prevailed' — describing the waters — will soon be used of God's covenant of protection (Genesis 9). The same word shifts from judgment to grace. The ark going 'upon the face of the waters' echoes , when the Spirit moved on the waters at creation.

Memory phrase: The ark stayed steady.

Talk about it: When big storms come in your life, how do you stay calm and steady?

Prayer: God, when everything feels like it is flooding around me, keep me steady.
