Bible Commentary

Genesis 10:19

The mention of Sodom and Gomorrah here is noteworthy — these cities will soon feature prominently in the story of Abraham and Lot (Genesis 18-19). The Table of Nations sets the stage for what follows.

Memory phrase: God knows every city and every place.

Talk about it: Have you heard of Sodom and Gomorrah? They are mentioned here — and they play a big role in Genesis soon!

Prayer: God, You know every city — the great ones and the forgotten ones. You know my city too.
