This is the most theologically significant verse in Genesis 15 — and one of the most important in the entire Bible. Paul quotes it in Romans 4:3 and Galatians 3:6 to establish that justification has always been by faith, not by works. Abraham was declared righteous not because he performed rituals or kept laws but because he believed God. Faith is credited as righteousness.

Talk about it: Abram couldn't see how the promise would come true — but he believed God anyway. What does it mean to trust someone even when you can't see the outcome?
Prayer: God, I believe You. I trust Your promises even when I can't see how they will come true. Count my faith and make me righteous.
