Matthew 5:37

Matthew 5:37

Jesus calls for radical simplicity in speech — no need for elaborate oaths or qualifications. A person of integrity whose word can be trusted needs only a plain 'yes' or 'no'.

Memory phrase: Let your yes mean yes

Talk about it: Why is it important that people can trust what you say?

Prayer: Jesus, help my yes always mean yes and my no always mean no. Make me a person others can truly trust.
