Matthew 5:43

The command to love neighbours came from Leviticus, but the addition of 'hate your enemies' was a popular but not Scriptural extension. Jesus is about to challenge this with a radically different command.

Memory phrase: Old way: love friends, hate enemies

Talk about it: Who are the easiest people to be kind to? Who is it hardest to be kind to?

Prayer: God, teach me Your way of loving — even the people I find difficult.
