Proverbs 13:19

Proverbs 13:19

The first half celebrates the sweetness of accomplishment — when a righteous desire is fulfilled, the soul experiences deep satisfaction. But the second half is stark: fools find it an abomination to leave evil. They are so attached to their wrongdoing that abandoning it feels revolting to them. This reveals the hardening power of sin: it eventually makes repentance feel undesirable.

Memory phrase: Accomplished goals are sweet.

Talk about it: Why would someone not want to stop doing something wrong?

Prayer: God, help me turn from wrong without delay.
