Proverbs 14:13

Proverbs 14:13

The outward expression of joy can mask inward grief. This verse warns against assuming all is well because someone laughs. It also speaks to the emptiness of mirth that avoids reality — laughter that ends in heaviness because it never addressed what was truly wrong.

Memory phrase: Check on others' hearts.

Talk about it: Can you think of a time when someone seemed fine but was really hurting inside?

Prayer: God, help me see past the smiles of others.
