This is one of Proverbs' core assertions. Wisdom — the ability to live well before God — is more valuable than the greatest material wealth. Gold and silver are real goods, but they cannot guide a life, navigate sorrow, or stand before God. Wisdom does all of this and more.
Memory phrase: Wisdom beats gold always.
Talk about it: If you had to choose between wisdom and a bag of gold, which would you pick and why?
Prayer: God, I want wisdom more than treasure.
