Genuine love covers offences — it forgives rather than broadcasting the wrong. This echoes ('love covereth all sins') and anticipates . In contrast, endlessly repeating an offence — bringing it up again and again, spreading it to others — tears friendships apart, even those that seemed unbreakable. The path of love is forgiveness; the path of destruction is repetition.
