Proverbs 17:20

Proverbs 17:20

'Froward' means twisted, perverse, or stubbornly contrary. A heart oriented away from God and goodness will find no good — not because good does not exist, but because a corrupted heart cannot recognise or receive it. Equally, a perverse tongue — speech that is twisted, deceitful, or harmful — leads to mischief as a natural consequence. Inner character and outward speech are inseparably connected.

Memory phrase: Right hearts find good.

Talk about it: Why does a person with a wrong heart find no good?

Prayer: God, make my heart right and my words clean.
