Proverbs 22:6

Proverbs 22:6

Little Bible — for children and parents · Growth Figures · © Growth Figures. All rights reserved.

One of the most significant verses in all of Proverbs for parents. The command to 'train up' carries the sense of shaping, directing, dedicating — not merely instructing. 'The way he should go' refers to the path of wisdom, righteousness, and the fear of the Lord. The promise is remarkable: early formation in the right direction creates a deep disposition that outlasts every later influence. This does not mean children will never stray, but that the right training creates a powerful return point.

Memory phrase: Teach children God's way.

Talk about it: Who teaches you the right way to live?

Prayer: God, help my parents teach me the right way.
