Proverbs 25:6

Presuming a place of honour you were not invited to is a form of pride. The wise person does not assume they deserve prominence — they wait to be called forward. This principle echoes Jesus's teaching in Luke 14:7–11.

Prayer: God, help me be humble and not push for places of honour.
