A drunkard who grabs a thorny branch is a danger to himself and others — he cannot feel or control what he is wielding. So the fool who wields proverbs and wisdom sayings without understanding causes damage without even recognising it. Wisdom misused is a weapon.
Memory phrase: Understand before you speak.
Talk about it: How can someone cause harm with words they do not really understand?
Prayer: God, help me understand Your words before I share them.
