Proverbs 29:7

Care for the poor is not peripheral in Proverbs — it is a mark of righteousness. The righteous person actively considers the legal and social situation of the poor person; the wicked person refuses even to acknowledge the need. This verse reflects God's own heart, which throughout Scripture consistently defends and honours the poor.

Memory phrase: Care for the poor.

Talk about it: How can you show you care about people who have less than you?

Prayer: God, give me a heart that cares for poor people.
