The Red Door

The Angel of Death didn't check if the people inside were good; he checked if the blood was on the door. Your safety isn't your performance; it's His blood.

"When I see the blood, I will pass over you." () Imagine the night of the Passover in Egypt. The Angel of Death is moving through the streets. It enters every house that is not marked. But the Israelites were told to paint the Blood of a Lamb on their doorposts.

Inside the house, the family might be scared. They might be weak. They might have argued that morning. But the Angel didn't check inside the house to see if the people were "good." The Angel only checked the Door .

If the blood was there, death passed over. Your safety doesn't depend on how "good" you feel inside the house. It depends on the Blood on the door. The Lamb is Jesus. The Door is your heart. If you have applied His blood by faith, you are safe from judgment.

Satan wants you to look inside (at your feelings/performance) to find assurance. God wants you to look outside (at the Blood). If the blood is there, you are safe. Period.

Digging Deeper

Theologically, this is Objective Atonement . The blood was an objective sign. It worked whether the Israelites "felt" it or not. It wasn't their fear that endangered them, and it wasn't their faith that saved them—it was the Object of their faith (The Blood).

"Nothing but the blood of Jesus." Judgment cannot enter where the Blood has been applied. Reflect on this: Are you worried about Judgment Day? Look at the door. Did you trust Jesus? Then the blood is there.

God cannot punish the same sin twice. He punished it in Jesus; He cannot punish it in you. 👣 Take a Step Action: The Blood Line. Draw a red line on a piece of paper. Write your sins on one side. Write "Judgment" on the other.

Realize the Judgment cannot cross the line. Rest in your safety.
