The Tenant and the Landlord

Your body isn't a playground; it's a temple. You don't own the building; you just live there. If you want to find true freedom in purity, you have to meet the Landlord.

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price." () Imagine you are renting an apartment.

You live there, but you don't own it. If the Landlord comes by and sees you smashing holes in the walls or letting dangerous strangers sleep on the floor, he has the right to be angry. Why? Because it’s his property.

You are just the Tenant . The world tells you: "Your body is yours. Do whatever makes you happy." The Bible tells you: "Your body is not yours. You are the Tenant. God is the Landlord." When Jesus died on the Cross, He paid a massive price to buy you.

This changes everything about how we view our bodies and our purity. If your body belongs to you, then what you do with it is just your business. But if your body belongs to God, then using it for sin is like trashing a rented house.

You are taking property that belongs to the King and damaging it. Purity is not about following a bunch of boring rules; it’s about respecting the Owner.

Digging Deeper

The idea that your body is a Temple is a massive upgrade in how humans are valued. In ancient times, the Temple was the holiest place on earth. If someone brought trash into it, they were severely punished.

Now, you are that holy place. God takes what we do with our bodies seriously because He is protective of His house. He loves you too much to let His temple be ruined. Reflect on this: Do you treat your body like a cheap hotel or a holy temple?

What you look at, what you eat, and what you do behind closed doors—does it honor the Landlord? 👣 Take a Step Action: The Temple Check. Think about your habits today. Pray this simple prayer: "Lord, I admit that I am just a guest in this body.

You own the deed. Help me keep Your house clean today."
