The Thief in the Night

Live as if He died yesterday, rose this morning, and is coming back tonight. Don't let the Thief catch you sleeping. Are you ready if He knocks right now? ๐Ÿ‘‡

"But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch..." () Imagine you know a thief is coming to your house tonight at exactly 3:00 AM.

What would you do? You would be awake. You would be dressed. You would have the lights on. You would be ready. But what if you don't know when he is coming? He might come tonight. He might come in 10 years.

The natural tendency is to fall asleep. To get comfortable. To think, "I have plenty of time." Jesus describes His return as a Thief . Not because He is bad, but because He is Unexpected . The tragedy of the modern church is that we have stopped looking at the sky.

We live as if this world will go on forever. We hold grudges (thinking we have time to forgive later). We delay repentance. Discipleship is living with One Eye on the Door . If He walked in right now, would you be embarrassed by what you are doing?

Digging Deeper

This is the doctrine of Imminence . Christ could return at any moment. In the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25), five were foolish because they let their oil run out. They assumed they could go buy more later.

But the Groom came when they weren't ready, and "the door was shut." Readiness is not paranoia; it is preparation. Reflect on this: If Jesus came back in 10 minutes: Who would you need to forgive? What would you need to delete from your phone?

Who would you wish you had shared the Gospel with? Do those things now . That is what it means to "keep watch." ๐Ÿ‘ฃ Take a Step Action: The 10-Minute Drill. Live the next hour as if it is your last hour on earth.

Be hyper-present. Love deeply. Hold nothing back. Notice how your priorities shift when the timeline is short.
