devotionJoshua 5:13-14THE PEACEMAKER

The Third Option

God is not a politician. He didn't come to take sides; He came to take over. Stop fighting for an earthly side and start fighting for the Kingdom.

"Now when Joshua was near Jericho... he asked, 'Are you for us or for our enemies?' 'Neither,' he replied, 'but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.'" () Imagine a massive war.

There are two armies lined up: Army A and Army B . Joshua (the great leader of Israel) sees a mighty Warrior with a drawn sword. Joshua asks a very simple, binary question: "Whose side are you on? Are you with Us or with Them?"

The Warrior (The Lord) gives a shocking, totally unexpected answer: "Neither." He essentially says: "I didn't come here to take sides. I came here to take over." We live in a world that forces us to pick a side.

Us vs. Them. My political party vs. Your political party. We constantly try to drag God into our fights. We ask: "God, are you on my political side?" And God says: "No. I am the King." He completely refuses to fit into our tiny earthly boxes.

As a Peacemaker, you must stop falling into the "Us vs. Them" trap. There is a Third Option : The Kingdom of God. The Kingdom is not a middle ground where you just compromise. It is Higher Ground. It stands above both sides, critiques the flaws in both sides, and invites everyone to bow to a new King.

Digging Deeper

This is about Kingdom Allegiance . The Church is not a political party. It is an Embassy of Heaven. If the church gets into bed with a political party, it becomes a mistress, not a pure Bride. We should absolutely speak truth to leaders, but we must never become a tool for them.

Unity does not mean "Uniformity" (that we all vote exactly the same way). Unity means we all kneel before the exact same King, even when we disagree on earthly strategies. The blood of Jesus is far thicker than the ink on a ballot.

Reflect on this: Does your political or tribal identity scream louder than your Christian identity? If you cannot sit down and have a peaceful lunch with someone from the "other side," you have drifted far from the Kingdom.

God is not on your side. You need to make sure you are on His. 👣 Take a Step Action: The Table Test. Invite someone who completely disagrees with you (politically or socially) to coffee. Make one strict rule: We will not talk about the issue.

We will just talk about life, family, and Jesus. Rediscover the humanity of the person you thought was "The Enemy."
