"I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open." (Isaiah 22:22) Imagine a house. You leave the Living Room (your past season).
You close the door behind you. You want to enter the Bedroom (your future season). But the door to the Bedroom is locked. Where are you? You are standing in The Hallway . It is dark. It is narrow. There is no furniture.
You can't stay there, but you can't go back, and you can't go forward yet. The Hallway is the most confusing place in discipleship. We call it "The Transition." You left the old job, but haven't found the new one.
You ended the bad relationship, but haven't found the godly one. You feel trapped. But the Hallway is not a trap; it is a Tunnel . God puts you there to strip you of the old season before He clothes you for the new one.
He locks the door to protect the future version of you.
Digging Deeper
Israel spent 40 years in the Hallway (The Wilderness) between Egypt and Canaan. Why? To get Egypt out of their hearts. If you are in the Hallway right now, stop banging on the locked door. Sit down. Worship.
Let God do the internal work. When you are ready, the Key of David will turn the lock. Reflect on this: Are you in between seasons? Does it feel like God has forgotten you? He hasn't. He is just changing your clothes in the dark.
Don't try to kick the door down. God opens doors that no man can shut, but He does it on His watch. ๐ฃ Take a Step Action: Bless the Hallway. Instead of complaining about being stuck, thank God for the transition.
Say: "Lord, I thank you that I am not where I used to be. Prepare me for where I am going. I trust You with the key."
