Oh, how happy is the person who doesn't follow the advice of those who ignore God, who doesn't join in when others do wrong, who doesn't sit with people who mock what is good and true!

Instead, the happy person loves God's Word with all their heart — they think about it in the morning and at night, turning it over and over like a treasure they can't put down.

That person will be like a beautiful tree growing right beside a river — always drinking in water, always green, always bearing fruit at the right time. Whatever they do will grow and flourish.

But those who turn away from God are completely different — they are not strong or rooted. They are like the dry, empty husks of wheat that the wind just blows away.

So when God's great day of judgement comes, those who have refused Him will not be able to stand — they will have nothing to hold them up. They will not belong among those who walked with God.

God knows every step of the path of those who love Him — He watches over it, He walks it with them. But the path that turns away from God leads to an end that has no future.
