Genesis 4:14

The deepest pain Cain expressed was being hidden from God's face — separation from the presence of God is the ultimate consequence of sin. This foreshadows the great longing for restoration that runs through all of Scripture.

Memory phrase: Nothing is worse than being far from God.

Talk about it: Cain was most afraid of being away from God. What do you think it would feel like to not have God near?

Prayer: God, please never let me be far from You. I want to always be near You.
