Genesis 14:17

Genesis 14:17

The king of Sodom — whose city Abram had just saved — meets the returning hero in the King's Valley. This is the moment of political reward. The king of Sodom is about to make an offer, and what Abram does next will reveal the true source of his values.

Memory phrase: Victory can bring temptations as big as the battle.

Talk about it: Abram had just won a great victory. What do you think might happen next? What would you want if you had just saved a whole city?

Prayer: God, after good things happen and people praise me, help me stay humble and keep my eyes on You.
