The second half of the blessing turns from Abram to God — the real victor is identified. Abram's tithe to Melchizedek is an act of worship: acknowledging that God was the source of the victory. Hebrews 7:4 makes the point that even Abraham — the patriarch — paid tithes to Melchizedek, showing Melchizedek's superiority.
Memory phrase: When God gives the victory, give Him the praise.
Talk about it: Abram gave a tenth of everything to Melchizedek. Why do you think he did that right after winning a big battle?
Prayer: God, when good things happen, help me always thank You first — You are the one who gives the victory.
