Matthew 5:15 | DiscipleDeck

Bible Commentary

Matthew 5:15

The point of light is illumination — hiding it defeats its purpose entirely. Jesus says His followers are meant to be placed prominently and shine out, not hidden away.

Memory phrase: Don't hide your candle — let it shine

Talk about it: Why would it be silly to cover a candle with a bowl? What would happen?

Prayer: God, I don't want to hide the good You put in me. Help me shine brightly for You.
