Paralysis ('palsy') was incurable at the time. The centurion did not come for himself but for someone in his household he clearly cared about — showing an unusual compassion for the era.

Memory phrase: Lord, my servant is suffering

Talk about it: What does it tell you about the centurion that he cared so much for his servant?

Prayer: Lord, teach me to care about other people's pain, not just my own. Help me pray for others.
