Matthew 9:3

Matthew 9:3

The scribes understood the implication of Jesus' words perfectly: only God can forgive sins. Their accusation of blasphemy was logical — unless Jesus really was God. That is exactly who He claimed to be.

Memory phrase: Only God can forgive

Talk about it: The scribes said only God can forgive sins — and they were right. What does that tell you about who Jesus is?

Prayer: Jesus, I believe You are God — and that You truly have the power to forgive me. Thank You.
