Riches are fleeting — they have a tendency to vanish. The image of wealth sprouting wings and flying away like an eagle is one of the most memorable in Proverbs. The verse warns against staking life, hope, or security on something so unstable.
Memory phrase: Riches fly away fast.
Talk about it: Why is it a bad idea to put all your hope in money?
Prayer: God, keep my heart from chasing what flies away.
