Proverbs 23:9

Proverbs 23:9

Wisdom must be offered discerningly. The fool — not merely someone unlearned, but someone who actively rejects wisdom — will treat good counsel with contempt. There is a time for speaking and a time for staying silent, and wasting wisdom on an unwilling heart is itself unwise.

Memory phrase: Know when not to speak.

Talk about it: Why is it sometimes right to stay quiet instead of giving advice?

Prayer: God, give me wisdom to know when to speak.
