Proverbs 23:35

Proverbs 23:35

This is the darkest verse of the chapter — the voice of the addicted person who has lost the ability to feel pain, learn from consequences, and choose differently. The tragic final line — 'I will seek it yet again' — shows the full grip of the trap. It is a mercy-less portrait of what the path of no self-control leads to, and it stands as the chapter's final warning.

Memory phrase: The worst trap is the one you choose.

Talk about it: What is sad about this person? Why should we feel sorry for them — and learn from them?

Prayer: God, save me from traps I cannot see or feel. Set me free.
