Proverbs 29:15

Proverbs 29:15

Discipline is inseparable from wisdom formation. The 'rod' here represents firm, loving correction — not cruelty — and 'reproof' is verbal instruction and rebuke. Together they shape a child's character toward wisdom. The child left entirely to their own desires becomes a source of shame, not because they are bad but because they were never trained. Discipline is an act of love.

Memory phrase: Correction gives wisdom.

Talk about it: Why do children need correction and discipline to grow wise?

Prayer: God, help me receive correction with a thankful heart.
