Genesis 13:3

Abram retraces his steps back to Bethel — the site of his second altar, the place of his first worship in Canaan. The return to Bethel is a deliberate spiritual act: going back to where faith was fresh, back to the place of first worship. This is also the place Jacob will later encounter God (Genesis 28). Bethel — 'house of God' — is always a place of return.

Memory phrase: Return to the place where you first met God.

Talk about it: Abram went back to the very first place he had worshipped God in Canaan. Why do you think he wanted to go back there?

Prayer: God, take me back to the freshness of when I first trusted You. Help me remember what it felt like to take the very first step of faith.
